Templates for Blueprint
Use Facets templates to add pre-configured groups of resources to a blueprint in one action, from built-in patterns or custom Git-backed templates you create.
A template is a reusable group of pre-configured resources you add to a blueprint in one action, instead of adding and configuring each resource by hand. Templates keep common patterns consistent and quick to reuse, for example a service, database, and monitoring stack together.
Types of templates
- Facets-provided templates: built-in templates for common setups, representing best practices and standard configurations.
- Custom templates: your own, created from existing blueprints and reused across projects to standardize patterns.
Use an existing template
Using prompt
What blueprint templates are available?or
Using command
# List what is published, optionally by category
raptor get bp-templates
raptor get bp-templates --category capabilities
# What one template contains, without downloading it
raptor get bp-templates <name> --details
# Write its resource JSONs to disk to read or adapt
raptor get bp-templates <name> --save-to ./my-templateDownloading writes the resources to ./bp-templates/<name>/ unless you pass --save-to. Adding them to a blueprint is then raptor apply resource per resource, since the prefixing the console does is part of its template flow rather than a command.
New to the CLI? Install it first.
Templates are in the right pane under the Templates tab: Facets-provided ones under "Capabilities", custom ones under "Custom". Select a template and give it a prefix, which is appended to every resource name in the template to avoid naming conflicts. You can add the same template more than once by using a different prefix each time.

Create a template
Saving a blueprint as a template is console-only: raptor get bp-templates reads the published set, but nothing in the CLI writes to it.
Use Save as Template on a blueprint, then enter a name, a description, and the account to save it in (a GitHub repo for the template is created in that account).
Linking resources
Wire resources in a Facets blueprint so they share values: connect them through the form, or dollar-reference one resource's output in another's JSON.
Critical Resources
Mark resources as critical in Facets to restrict who can delete, disable, or edit sensitive infrastructure, backed by RBAC permissions and audit logs.
