How cloud migration with Facets works
Most cloud migrations are a one-off lift and shift: you move, then you are left operating whatever landed. Facets' Cloud Migration Agent, part of Praxis, works differently. You link the source cloud and define the boundaries of the migration; Praxis scans the infrastructure, reverse-engineers a Facets blueprint, and writes typed Terraform modules for the target cloud. Facets then spins up the new environments and runs data migration through dedicated agents, with humans in the loop at every decision point.
StepWhat happens
Link and scopeConnect the source cloud and describe what is in and out of scope
Scan and blueprintPraxis scans the source and builds a Facets blueprint that models it
Generate target modulesPraxis writes Terraform modules per your reference modules and registers them for the target
Stand up environmentsFacets provisions the target environments from the blueprint
Migrate dataData-migration agents move data into the new environments
ReplicateOnce one environment lands, the rest spin up in a single click

OWNERSHIP

What gets migrated, and what you own afterward

Facets owns the infrastructure move. Your team keeps the application decisions, and the code you leave with is standard Terraform.

What Facets migrates

Facets migrates infrastructure as typed Terraform modules, builds the blueprint that models it, provisions the target environments, and orchestrates data migration through dedicated agents, with humans in the loop for decisions.

What stays with your team

Application code changes, application testing, and the business decision on when to cut traffic over stay with your team.

No lock-in

The migration outputs standard Terraform, not a proprietary format. Stay on Facets for day-2 automation (drift-free environments, developer self-service, and one-click replication for new environments), or export your Terraform and run it yourself. Either way you leave with well-structured infrastructure code and no proprietary agents left behind.

BY TARGET CLOUD

Which clouds Facets migrates between

The Cloud Migration Agent works across the three hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) plus Vultr, OVH Cloud, and Linode, as both source and target. Agent-led migration to your target cloud's native services, with no lock-in.

Migrate to AWS

EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3 and the rest of your AWS stack.

Migrate to Azure

AKS, Container Apps, Azure Database, Blob Storage and more.

Migrate to GCP

GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub and more.

Migrate to Vultr

Vultr-native infrastructure, agent-led with no lock-in.

Migrate to OVH Cloud

OVH Cloud-native infrastructure, supported as both source and target.

Migrate to Linode

Linode-native infrastructure, supported as both source and target.

Where Facets fits

If you are migrating between clouds, the real question is whether the tool just lifts and shifts or rebuilds you on a model you can operate afterward. Facets' Cloud Migration Agent generates typed Terraform modules and a blueprint for the target cloud, so once the migration lands you get drift-free, self-serve environments, not a one-off move you still have to operate by hand.

Break Free from Cloud Lock-in

Deploy consistently, migrate seamlessly, operate efficiently across any cloud.
