Web Component Builder

Build custom Facets dashboard components by describing them to Praxis, which scaffolds the code, deploys it to GitHub Pages, and embeds the result in your dashboard.

Overview

Web Component Builder is a Praxis capability for creating custom components for your Facets dashboard through conversation. You describe the component you want in plain language, and Praxis builds it, deploys it to GitHub Pages, and embeds it in your dashboard as a sidebar app or tab. There is no scaffolding to write and no build pipeline to run yourself.

Each component is a single self-contained script in plain JavaScript, with no framework, no npm packages, and no build step, so it stays lightweight and isolated from the rest of your dashboard.

For the full walkthrough, see Build a web component with Praxis. It covers building a component, deploying it to GitHub Pages, embedding it in your dashboard, connecting it to Facets data, updating it later, and example prompts to start from.

Safety and access

Praxis creates the component's repository as public and serves it from public GitHub Pages, so both its source and its URL are public. This exposes nothing sensitive: the code holds no API keys or tokens, and it reaches Facets only through the session cookie of the person viewing it.

📘

A deployed component runs under the session of whoever is viewing it. It can only read the Facets data that person is already allowed to see, so embedding a component grants no extra access.
