Backups and disaster recovery

How to stand up a copy of an environment in another region from its blueprint, and what Facets backs up for its own control plane.

You can rebuild an environment's infrastructure in another region or cloud account from its blueprint. Copying the data and running the failover stay with your team.

New regions and DR copies

Facets builds a new region or DR copy as another environment, from the same blueprint, in the cloud account and region you set for it.

Facets doesn't copy the data inside your databases: restore it from your own backups. In Facets' catalog, database modules such as RDS, Aurora, Cloud SQL and Azure Flexible Server can create the database from a backup. Failover, including DNS cutover and failover tests, stays with your team.

Backups, and recovering the control plane

Your blueprints and their history are in Git, in your own account unless the project was created with the Praxis CLI without --vcs-account. Every override change is a revision you can restore. Backup details for the rest of the control plane are published only for self-hosted on AWS, and recovery times aren't published.
